OUR PROCESS

initial meeting
If there's one thing my social work background taught me, it's that the relationship is the most important part of the process. Let's get to know each other and get EXCITED!

booking
This is where we reserve your date for you and only you. I do not book anything else on the date of your wedding which allows the ultimate flexibility in case there are last minute changes to your timeline.

PLANNING + CONSULTATIONS
You'll receive my MRP Wedding Guide to help answer some questions you may have and to offer suggestions to give us the best chance at capturing all the images you desire. We will collaborate to develop a photography timeline for your wedding day.

Every image to be delivered will be edited in Michelle Renee's signature style and uploaded into your personalized gallery for sharing and downloading of high-resolution images. The link will be sent to you only. Feel free to share with whomever you'd like.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION

You'll receive a "Helpful Hints" email to offer tips on how to prepare for your engagement session. Most importantly, this session allows us time to get to know each other and increase comfort with posing prompts and my style of photography.

YOUR WEDDING
album design and delivery
We'll be there every step of the way with multiple shooters to make sure the
moments that matter are caught so you can sit back, relax, and trust us to make the magic happen.
You'll begin by choosing your must-have images to include in your album and I'll get to work on the first design draft. Two drafts are included in the album design process. Once the design is finalized and you've chosen your album cover fabric and color, the design is sent to print and will be delivered directly to your home.

Do you travel for weddings?
While I am based in the suburbs of Richmond, Virginia, I frequently travel across the United States as well as internationally to photograph weddings. I am passport ready. Travel fees apply.
How many images will we receive?
Because each wedding is different, there is no set number. However, I estimate 75-100 images per hour. If hired for 8 hours, you can estimate 600-800 images delivered.
Do you edit every image we receive?
Yes! It is important to me that you receive a gallery full of images true to the style you see here. Every image is edited before it is uploaded into your gallery.
when can we expect our gallery?
For portrait sessions, I estimate delivery within 2 weeks. For weddings, delivery is estimated at 1 month.
do you use a second photographer?
A second photographer is included in the MRP wedding photography collection. Each person in this role has been a lead photographer in their own business in the past.
do you deliver B&W Images?
Yes, I do deliver a number of black and white images. The majority of your gallery will be in color, but artistic discretion will be used in determining which images would best tell your story in black and white.
how long have you been a photographer?
I've been photographing weddings for over 12 years! During that time, I've refined my shooting technique and ability to manage the unique flow of a wedding day while ensuring the process is enjoyable along the way.
are your images candid or posed?
Largely, my images are candid in that I am present on your wedding day to capture it as it unfolds. During specific portrait times, I'll offer guidance and provide action steps for you to engage in to capture your connection. I like to call these "planned candids".
can you help me feel comfortable in front of the camera?
Almost every one of my clients tells me they are uncomfortable or feel awkward when having their photo taken, and it never fails that they are BLOWN AWAY by how natural their images turn out. Trust that it is my job to make you feel comfortable and engage you together in ways that are a natural fit. Relax and enjoy the ride. You'll be (and look) stunning!

For over a decade, I've traveled across the country as well as overseas to join with couples in celebrating their love. I've offered my artistic gifts to capture their love story in classic, elegant and colorful imagery, remaining true to the authentic story that unfolds. My couples aren't just "clients." They are friends. They are family. And because they are, I approach each wedding day with a respect and reverence for what I am so honored enough to witness. The last thing I want for any Michelle Renee Couple is for them to walk away from this experience and wish they had more. This is why I choose to offer an all-inclusive SIGNATURE WEDDING COLLECTION. I want you to have what I would want to have on my wedding day. Couples through the years have used me as a sounding board to share some of their feelings of overwhelm at the task of making so many decisions on their wedding day path and have appreciated the simplicity the SIGNATURE COLLECTION. That being said, I also recognize that each couple is unique and has it's own desires and needs for their celebration. To that end, the SIGNATURE COLLECTION can be customized upon request. Open communication is key, and I welcome any customized wedding day requests. This is YOUR day, and I desire nothing more than to help you make it perfect!
Because MRP Couples want it all, the SIGNATURE COLLECTION includes: an engagement session, a second photographer on your wedding day, up to 8 hours of wedding day photography coverage, digital negatives of all edited images, time to edit final gallery images, pre-wedding day consultation to develop your wedding day timeline, an online viewing gallery, and a 10x10 wedding album (leather or linen). Optional add ons available. Inquire for full proposal.
