It seems like yesterday that I had just gotten my new-t0-me fancy camera off of Craigslist and I wanted to photograph every little detail of my newborn son. Every. Single. Day. I did my best, but truth be told, I had no idea what I was doing. Not long after that, in graduate school a friend asked me to photograph her wedding at the beach. I didn't know much more then, but it motivated me to dig into every blog, magazine, and educational resource I could find to figure out how to use that fancy camera. I was new to the industry and did not have one single person (that i knew of anyway) to turn to for hands-on education. Since then, I've found my way, but the road I travelled could have been a bit straighter if I'd had a mentor to learn from and grow through. That's what i hope to be for you. From how to shoot in manual to how to compose an emotional, authentic image, I am here to share what I know.
Over a decade of shooting weddings (and sometimes learning the hard way) has allowed me a unique opportunity to refine my wedding experience process from start to finish. I want to share a bit of that with you.

When I first started out, I used to write down everything I needed to photograph on a wedding day (and draw stick figure posing reminders) on a piece of paper I carried with me. After over a decade, those shots and poses are mentally engrained in my mind. But for those starting out, this guide can help you along.
